The company name is a clever play on Alan’s last name, “Chovel,” symbolizing our commitment to digging deep and delivering solid results. Starting as a small South Florida general contractor, we’ve grown into a premier shell contractor specializing in concrete and masonry work for commercial projects. Over the years, we’ve tackled contracts from $50,000 to $1.7M, including airport infrastructure at Miami International, luxury condominiums, healthcare facilities, and government projects. Joined by partner Yader Gonzalez in 2023, our team combines over 40 years of expertise to navigate South Florida’s unique market and construction challenges. Yader Gonzalez joined Shovel Construction in 2023 as Vp of Operations, overseeing daily and field activities and operational efficiency with over 20 years of construction industry experience.
